Heavy-metal fans love metal music because it’s intense and exciting. As such, Warner Music Group (WMG) is harnessing the audience’s passion and energy with Adobe Experience Manager Livefyre to promote new music.
The label for some of the world’s best-selling metal artists wanted to generate buzz for one of its bands’ new singles and encourage fans to subscribe to its YouTube channel. From a powerful microsite, WMG asked fans to pick their favorite videos in a bracketed elimination using specific hashtags on Twitter. Trending capabilities in Livefyre allow WMG to score videos automatically and display the results with real-time buzz meters on the microsite.
WMG used Livefyre — an Adobe Marketing Cloud solution — to route Tweets back to the band’s website and collect new user information from the microsite. Fans could also subscribe to the band’s YouTube channel with the click of a button. During the video contest’s four-day run, Twitter users cast 4,023 votes, fans watched nearly 34,000 videos, and the band’s YouTube channel gained 8,000 new subscribers.
